  7.      One tiny fragment sifted from the tons of debris that
  8. rained down over Lockerbie, Scotland, may at last reveal who
  9. blew up PAN AM 103. While both Syrian and Palestinian terrorists
  10. have been suspected of planting the bomb, the focus has shifted
  11. to the Libyan intelligence service. Scottish police, baffled by a
  12. fingernail-size bit of electronic circuitry from the wreckage,
  13. shipped it off to Washington. When FBI lab analysts compared the
  14. shard with the printed-circuit boards of two unexploded bombs
  15. taken from Libyan agents in Africa, it was a match. FBI agents
  16. and Scottish investigators tracked the timers to a Swiss
  17. electronics firm, which acknowledged selling two dozen to the
  18. Libyan government. A grand jury in Washington is expected to
  19. indict several Libyan intelligence agents in November.
